Elise van Nederveen Meerkerk is Professor of Economic and Social History at Utrecht University. She was elected member of the Dutch Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) in 2025, and of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences (KHMW) in 2026.
