Recently, I was awarded a fellowship to stay at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Studies in Amsterdam. From 1 September 2017 to 31 January 2018, I will be working on my book project Households and Empire: Colonial connections, household labour relations and living standards in the Netherlands and the Netherlands East Indies, 1830-1940. After these five months of focused writing, I hope to have completed my book manuscript and submit it to a top publisher.
